The Destination

El Nido, Palawan

Palawan is an archipelago in western Philippines that is often referred to as the country's "Last Frontier". El Nido, a small, coastal town in northern Palawan, is the gateway to the stunning Bacuit Bay, which is home to dozens of hidden lagoons, pristine beaches and a fantasy-scape of dramatic limestone islands.

Things to do:

  • Island hopping (best way to explore lagoons and beaches)

  • Beach and sunsets at Nacpan Beach and Las Cabanas Beach

  • Restaurants and nightlife in El Nido town center

Getting around

Tricycle (tuk-tuk) is the main mode of transportation. Private vehicles can also be arranged through agencies or hotels

Private shuttles from select hotels will be provided for main events

Getting there

Manila to El Nido

From Manila or any other major Philippines city, the fastest way to El Nido, Palawan is by flying into El Nido Airport (ENI), located in Lio Beach. Cebu Pacific airline operates regular direct flights to El Nido. You can also fly into Puerto Princessa - flights are much cheaper but it requires a 4-6 hour drive to El Nido.

We highly recommend booking your flights well in advance (3+ months) due to March being peak travel season.

Layover or stay in Manila

If you are spending more than a night in Manila, we recommend staying in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), a modern, vibrant urban center.

If you have a long layover in Manila, we recommend booking a hotel/Airbnb just outside the airport in Newport City (there are several for under $100 a night or even cheaper for half days). You can walk to these via a bridge from the airport terminal. Belmont Hotel is right at the end of the terminal bridge and is a 10 minute walk from baggage claim. Marriott is across the street from Belmont. There is also a shopping mall in the area.
